Staff Pose (Dandasana) - [dan-dah-sah-anna] - Danda = a staff or rod
Description: Helps improve gastric ailments and corrects posture. It can be used as resting pose or a preparatory pose for almost any seated pose, because it creates a sense of awareness throughout the entire body.
Head-to-Knee Pose (Janu Sirsasana) - [jah-new-shear-shahs-anna]
Description: Although this is a seated pose it can bring the body much energy and heat. It is good for healing gastric ailments. It may also help to cure asthma. It is excellent for both a warming up and cooling down pose.
Thunderbolt or Zen Pose (Vajrasana) – [vah-jras-anna]
Description: Not only does this pose encourage and support excellent posture, it also aids in digestion. Sit as often as you can here, particularly right after meals. Meditation can simply happen in this powerful place.
