"I'm just dropping you a line to say how marvelous your
service is, and to let you know how much it has affected my life.
Believe it or not my doctor recommended yoga to help with some
back pain and stress issues I have been having over the last year.
Unfortunately, my work schedule - which is causing all the stress!
- does not fit with my local yoga class schedule and I thought
I would not be able to give yoga a try. Then, about two months
ago, I found your site and I have been practicing three times
a week. What a difference it has made! My wife thinks it may have
saved our marriage ;) Thanks again and keep up the great work!"

I just joined recently and I really enjoy your programs. I love the ability to be able to choose a teacher in my own home! I have done yoga on and off for a year... but was alway intimidated to go to studios because of low flexibility and poor posture. I have done most of the level 1 programs and I have to say that the Beth Shaw yoga fit basics is the perfect pacing. I found that the poses were no more difficult then the other level ones BUT it offered a faster pace. Can anyone suggest with are the easier LVL 2 videos? the ones we should try first? Jason, Glad you’re on a roll at home with your growing practice! You gave me a good hunch in mentioning “poor posture.” Here we frequently want to remind the front of the body to strengthen and lengthen. We WANT the shoulder blades to relax D O W N. We WANT the chest to feel open and majestic! The crown of the head held high. This is a conversation we need to have with ourselves continually! Your spine wants to feel progressively supported, secure and held up on all sides. It particularly needs to trust in the integrity of its root, the sacrum. By continuing to strengthen and tone the abdominal and pelvic regions, the spinal nerves respond happily as centralized conductors of pranic energy … given you maintain conscious, deepened, even breath. Flow- series of various yoga postures, as you've been experiencing, are designed to counter imbalance. Sometimes the slower we move into and out of a pose, the deeper the penetration. It's great that you're experimenting and have found a perfect pacing at this conjucture of your practice. Just curious … which would you say best describes your situation: Often bent over a keyboard; often leaning into my bicycle; too often carrying heavy loads of stuff around; feeling like having been “kicked” in the chest one too many times; other… Trust me, this is important to know! Further recommendations will come your way. Just need a little more information. For now, in addition to YLC offerings, have you checked out Beth Shaw’s web site – www.yogafit.com? If you’ve not already done so, I suggest you venture into “YogaFit Abs,” “Yoga Core,” or “YogaStrength.” (Remember, you can always modify and tailor to your specific needs during-the-moment in your practice.) Looking forward to hearing from you again, soon. New material surfaces here at the YLC all the time – keep your eyes focused and your spine ….NOT hunched over when browsing this site!
