Testimonials

"I'm just dropping you a line to say how marvelous your service is, and to let you know how much it has affected my life. Believe it or not my doctor recommended yoga to help with some back pain and stress issues I have been having over the last year. Unfortunately, my work schedule - which is causing all the stress! - does not fit with my local yoga class schedule and I thought I would not be able to give yoga a try. Then, about two months ago, I found your site and I have been practicing three times a week. What a difference it has made! My wife thinks it may have saved our marriage ;) Thanks again and keep up the great work!" - Bill Cory, Pacheco, CA

Hello,
I would just like to thank everyone involved with The Yoga Learning Center. This is a fabulous resource and a blessing to myself, and many others I am sure. I am just beginning Yoga and I think that having a studio come to you, in the privacy of your own home, especially as a novice, is invaluable. I am anxiously awaiting the addition of more poses/asanas to be listed. I found that after watching my practice session, it helped me greatly to be able to see photos along with directions for what I had just done. Thank you so much for sharing your information and your wisdom with the world in this manner. May you all be blessed.
Namaste,

Dear Yoga learning Center,

I did not realize how new this site was when I came upon it. I have been to a few yoga classes in the past, but it was very expensive. Those studios were close to my work, but now that I've changed jobs, there aren't any good ones close by. So this site is very helpful and convenient. The exercises I've done in the past month have really helped. I just feel better in my body. Also, I really look forward to being able to access the site while I am at my parents' house during the holidays.

Thank you,

K. Hill

Hi K,

Yes, the site is only four months old! But the feedback we've gotten so far has been overwhelming. I can't express to you how wonderful it is to be helping people with one of the greatest loves of my life, yoga. Thank you so much for your encouraging feedback, and I hope your experience at the Yoga Learning Center will continue to bring you health and a sense of peace within.

Namaste,

I came across this site last week and joined on the second day after seeing it. I love the exposure to different teachers and levels. I am not new to yoga, but am new to practicing daily. Without your site, I could not (would not) practice daily. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Hi -

I am a recent new member to the YLC. So far, I'm using this site at least five times a week!

I was introduced to Yoga through my old gym (which I stopped going to) and this website is a great idea.

I hope the YLC can quickly add to its library, especially offering a range of yoga practices for intermediate to advanced students. I would love to see a Ashtanga yoga lesson or more lessons that are faster paced.

I've already started referring this site to my other yoga friends...please keep up the great work.

Dear Yoga Learning Center,

I hope that you stay with the more traditional (slow and mindful) yoga because nowadays those classes are hard, if not impossible, to find. So many of the classes nowadays are reved up like an aerobic class or power yoga, which is not where the essence of yoga is based on. Plus our society desperately needs to slow down with stress relieving types of yoga. I have heard people complain that yoga is boring, which they may be getting it mixed up with peacefulness or serenity. We all need to learn to feel more comfortable not "doing" and be at peace with it, not bored. We are losing the richness of the whole concept of yoga. I have done yoga for 23 years. I hope that you continue to offer slow, mindful, inward and stress relieving yoga like you have now. To be honest, many people don't need advanced yoga because many of them have lost the value and just want to do the asanas without the inside work. And then there are many others that are searching for the deep significance of yoga and can't find it anywhere but here. Thank you for having great yoga and a wonderful site! I will be looking forward to more relaxing yoga classes at YLC. :-)

Thanks so much,
Crystal

Hi Crystal!

Thank you so much for your insights. I am in complete agreement that "modern" yoga focuses too much on the exterior, leaving the "spirit" as secondary, much to the detriment of the practitioner. As you have noticed, at the YLC we feature on slow, mindful classes in hopes of benefiting the entire person, not just the exterior. However, yoga is all about balance, so we try to provide a “balanced” site, with both advanced and beginning, slow and quick paced practices. It is our goal, however, that even our advanced classes address mindfulness, creating the calm, peaceful feeling that everyone should take away from any yoga class.

Once again, thank you for your post!

Namaste,

Steve

Hi Everyone,

I've been doing yoga for several years now. Its really helped with a lower back and right hip problem.

I haven't used the site much yet but I'm really impressed with the practices I've tried so far. Especially the sitting at a desk type of practise for when work just gets too much as I work at a computer all day.

I joined mainly because we recently bought a holiday home in Florida and when we're out there I have no contact with other people practising yoga. This will travel with me between the UK and USA as we have high speed internet in both places so its like having my own portable yoga studio. Absolutely fantastic and with new programs to keep up the interest.

Namaste

I'm enjoying all the videos and it will probably take the whole 3 months of membership to go thru them all. I like the variety of styles including the yoga dance. The kundalini is really different and difficult too. I would love to have another kundalini video that is shorter. Any advanced person can easily make a simple practice more difficult - so its fine to have lots of the beginner videos. I would love to have a Tai chi video also and streaming music.
